Using GameSheet during a game

This is the basic process you will follow when using GameSheet during a game, whether it is a district game, a tournament game, or a non-district game.

The first thing you should do is check to see if your game has been loaded already. When you open the GameSheet app, your game will either appear or you will have the open to create a new game. It will ask you to create from scratch or load from schedule. Click load from schedule, then from the drop down menus, choose the appropriate division, team, date etc to see if your game has been pre loaded. If it has, please use that game and just edit any details as needed. Do not duplicate an already created game. If your game is not there, make sure you know if it is regular season or exhibition, and then create from scratch.

The only difference in set up will be district games are played in Regular Season, non-district games are played in Exhibition, and tournaments will be played in their appropriate category.  So be sure you know what type of game you are setting up before you begin. The Team Manager or Head Coach will have this info if you are unsure...always ask, no one will be upset if you double check to make sure you are setting GameSheet up correctly.

The iPads are stored securely at both the BCA and Nymore. Please communicate with your Team Manager or the Tournament Coordinator about where to pick them up.  Be sure to sign them out and in in the blue book before and after your shift.

This is a document that outlines what you do when you get to the rink ready to work your shift as the scorekeeper. The videos below show in real time how it looks on the iPad. Together, this should leave you with a very solid understanding of how to score the game using GameSheet.

We have been seeing an increase in incorrect penalties documented during the first half of the season. Please take a moment to read through this overview of the different types of penalties and the consequences for each. Correctly documenting penalties is extremely important to avoid unjust suspensions for the players and the coaches. Be sure you know what penalties you are assigning during the game.

These videos show all the different tasks you will do in GameSheet. I recommend following the Work Flow Guide as you watch them to get the full picture of what to expect your DIBS shift to look like.  (Each video is less than one minute long, and that includes the theme song)
